Sketch Journal 1: Kira

For those of you who know me at all, Alter's been a pet project of mine for years. After spending some quality time writing down the actual storyline, I was inspired to work on the visual design of a few characters.

And so, my Sketch Journal was born.

This journal's dedicated (mostly) to Kira. I've been trying to find a good style to portray the characters in, a style which allows for a broad range of emotion without requiring an overly-exaggerated look to do so. Not surprisingly, I went with my east-meets-west comic style.

I focused mostly on the design of the face, although I did a few full-figure sketches.

Note to self: must practice drawing full-figure sketches.
